The Nesko
The Dutch Student Chamber Orchestra (Nesko) was founded in October 1964 to offer students the opportunity to play in a chamber orchestra.
Every year, the Nesko is composed of some 45 ambitious students from Dutch universities and colleges of higher education who, in addition to their studies, make music at a high level. They are given the opportunity to devote two weeks of intensive time to chamber music repertoire. Under the guidance of a renowned conductor they study a programme that is compiled by the Nesko board and conductor from the extensive chamber music literature.
